The concept of transmutation of sexual energy termed celibacy (Brahmacharya Vrata) is best detailed by Napoleon Hill in his famous books “Think and Grow Rich” and “Law of Success“. Napoleon Hill talks about tangible wealth most of time. Truly, by transmuting and channelizing sexual energy towards the only goal of life human beings can gain absolute success in life. Practice of celibacy does not mean abstention from a sexual relationship alone. One needs practicing celibacy mantra to reach our ultimate goal of life.
The physical aspect of celibacy constitutes hardly 10% of total job. 90% celibacy is always practiced mentally. Eradicating flow of negative thoughts to our brain in totality is what absolute celibacy all about. God Almighty ordained a particular quota of energy to every man and woman month after month, year after year. Some whiled it away through pure physical channels; others channelized it towards the only goal of life. Sexual energy as detailed in scriptures as the most potent energy made available to mankind.
Physical aspect of celibacy does not mean total abstinence from a sexual relationship. As per scriptures a maximum of two indulgences per month (one was preferable) were permitted.
