In pursuit of God from six years of age, I searched for a spiritual master to guide me in the journey of life. Foremost of all was my mother. I put forward many queries to her but no reply! Probably she did not have the answers. Next I tried asking my father but was scared most of time. My father said nothing and advised me to concentrate more on school studies. Next I went to my class teacher… he too was angry and scolded me for indulging in subjects that were not meant for a child. Finally I went to the headmaster. He gave me a patient hearing and realizing that my queries were logical… advised me to ponder over them again and again! He plainly said the answers would be received by me of their own! Whomever I asked my queries was in a dilemma, perhaps none knew the answers.
It was then I decided that I would search for answers in every single religion of world. If I came across a Christian, I would put forward my queries. Whatever the answers, based on logical reasoning if something was acceptable… I gladly accepted it with an open heart! If I came across a Muslim Maulvi, the same retinue of queries and whatever was acceptable… I again accepted it with an open mind. I was never averse to teachings of different religions of world. Whatever little I could gather from different religions based on logical reasoning… I continued accepting all! One thing about Bhagavad Gita was really fascinating… truth was only one! If something in particular religion, the teachings of Jesus Christ or Gautama Buddha appealed to me… I accepted it! Furthermore, teachings of enlightened ones could never be rejected; we had only to reach the right interpretation!
In my search for God, teachings of all enlightened souls like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed came to my rescue at different stages of life! Born in Jainism religion, all my life I followed teachings of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita, whatever little I could gather from life of Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed… were accepted by me in toto! Every human being on mother earth traveled through a different path to God Almighty. From that analogy we could never reject teachings of an enlightened one! If we were all the time concentrated on our spiritual goal, we would accept all the teachings wholeheartedly that were based on truth and only truth, irrespective of religion, faith or belief!
