In the nascent stages when human form had not yet evolved as today, people worshipped Surya Devta mostly out of fear as absence of sunlight on mother earth even for a few days could result in death of every form of life. With advancements in science, the mystery of Surya Devta no more remained a mystery, everything became known to minutest detail! The godly feeling that people felt for Surya Devta in yesteryears existed no more, diminished with time.
For commoners, mankind Surya Devta after all was only a small star system amongst millions of stars, galaxies in the cosmos! People respect God for it was hidden. Hypothetically if a cosmic entity surfaced one day proclaiming that it was God, almost 90% people world over would stop believing in God! When suffering people hated God like anything but could do nothing about it. If God were to become available physically… most human beings world over would want an answer from God for their sufferings!
We do not question God because he is invisible! The day he surfaces, people would stop worshipping God!
