Overcoming Depression Causes of Depression

Not having a goal in life, overcome with negativity people sometimes experienced bouts of depression. Such incidents often result from caving in to advice from others than our own voice coming from within. This voice of our soul atman coming from within our heart always guides us on right path. To avoid falling into a trap of negativity we must always abide by dictates of our soul atman coming from within.

In absence of a goal in life, life was like a rudderless boat going round and round in the ocean. We must form a definite goal in life and pursue it with bulldog determination exhibited by Swami Vivekananda. Having a goal in life is journey half covered. Pursuing a definite goal consumes all our energies and little is left for depression overtaking us.

We must never have too many desires that lead to attachments and if some desires do not fulfill, we experienced heartburning, depression. It is always better to indulge in karma, nishkama karma way of life. In reality fruits of karma performed always belonged to our soul atman, the spirit within. We must always live life like a true trustee, a custodian… caretaker for everything in this cosmos belonged to God Almighty.

By having a goal in life six years of age I never felt depression ever in my life. By thinking positive all the time, I was able to keep negativity at bay. I had only one life to live, the present earthly domain. I never got carried away by whimsical desires and wishes. From 15 years of age I was the absolute master and controller of my life, my destiny. I was lucky to be given a copy of “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill followed by “Law of Success” also by Napoleon Hill. These two books are worth their weight in gold.

I advise going to the nearest bookstore and getting copies of the above two books by Napoleon Hill. They will not only teach you importance of having a goal in life but also how to reach that goal. If still you find something is missing get a copy of “Jonathan Livingston Seagull a story” by Richard Bach. You would finally become a positive winner in the journey of life.
