Such an eventuality can be anticipated many billion years ahead. The concept of reincarnation, rebirth is a totally misunderstood concept world over. Nothing like rebirth exists in cosmic system. As souls atmans were indestructible (could either be created or destroyed), how could they rebirth? Reincarnation simply means after death of mortal frame, our soul atman manifesting a new body to start new journey of life. This cycle of birth and death termed reincarnation comes to an end when human beings finally reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana).
As detailed in Bhagavad Gita, as ordained by God every single human being on mother earth had to reach stage of enlightenment at some stage of cosmic life. Whether we do it now in present life like Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana or leave it for future manifestations is solely our prerogative. None could interfere in this decision of ours. All souls atmans on mother earth were directly connected to Sun, the solar system. Sun still has billions of years to go before it converts into a red giant, a long-time for most souls’ atmans to reach stage of enlightenment.
Reaching stage of enlightenment in human form was the last stage of evolution on mother earth. Nowhere further to go, after an enlightened one leaves mortal frame, the liberated soul atman finally enters abode of God, kingdom of God (Vaikuntha in Hinduism), a point of no return. We truly are blessed manifesting a human form, the highest manifest stage in cosmic life cycle. Souls’ atmans gained absolute freedom only in human form, never lower forms of life. The journey of entire cosmos comes to an end when dissolution of entire cosmos occurred (Pralaya in Hinduism). At this moment all souls’ atmans in cosmos automatically reached 8.4 millionth manifestation, last in cosmic life cycle.
