Rather than worshipping gods, mankind must indulge in reaching God in their lifetime. As God Almighty existed in all human beings in miniscule form as our soul atman existing in our heart, it was our prime duty to indulge in spirituality to gain emancipation from cycle of birth and death at the earliest. We can do it in present life or leave it for future manifestations. There never was any hurry. God Almighty ordained a long journey of 1.1 million manifestations in human form to reach stage of enlightenment, moksha salvation.
Those who worshipped God indulged in path of rituals that carried no meaning in field of spirituality. Instead of worshipping God, we must offer our prayers to God Almighty thanking him for his grace. In absence of grace of God Almighty, we could never complete our earthly journey successfully. In my search for spiritual truth, I prayed to god at times thanking him for his benevolence, his grace! I also asked God for a lot of things for the benefit of entire mankind, to which he easily succumbed.
