There were many precepts on path of pure spirituality that need indulgence.
Some may find practicing contemplation extremely difficult… rather most, world over did not want to indulge in contemplation and continued following religious practices that lead nowhere.
Some may find negating ego to zero something not achievable. Ego can be subdued in totality only by indulgence in path of nishkama karma yoga, offering fruits of karma performed to God all the time.
Totally negation of karma demands establishing absolute control over five senses and mind. Control over five senses was another impossible task. Thousands of thoughts flowed to our brain incessantly every second of life. Stopping the flow of these thoughts was another serious problem.
Spiritual liberation demands full awakening of kundalini shakti which becomes a reality only by practicing absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation. One could practice celibacy (Brahmacharya Vrata) sincerely for 12 years in a go but what about absolute celibacy!
100% faith in God was necessitated to reach stage of spiritual liberation. Practice of 100% truthfulness was another necessary requirement.
Out of all above practices, one may find one or other almost an impossible task and call it quits!
