The stage of spiritual awakening is reached after establishing total control over five senses and mind. Emotions, attachments have to be negated to zero to establish control over five senses. Spiritual awakening announces a soul atman reaching stage of absolute purity. One truly awakens from within… becomes a pure soul atman in the cosmic journey of life.
All awakened souls like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed took control of all emotions, attachments by traveling path of nishkama karma yoga, never attaching self to fruits of karma performed. A true nishkama karma Yogi works like a trustee, caretaker… taking care of things that already belonged to God. One was truly an instrument in hands of God doing his bidding all the time.
On path of pure spirituality before full spiritual awakening, establishing absolute control over Moha (extreme emotional attachment) was necessitated. All ladies are deeply imbibed with Moha, prime reason why ladies found it difficult to reach stage of spiritual awakening! Cutting shackles of Moha was the most difficult task of all.
