Journey of spirituality had innumerous aspects all of which could not be detailed here. Primarily we need distinguishing between dharma, religion and spirituality. Once all the three definitions were clear we could indulge in path of pure spirituality. Spiritual travel demands our indulgence in yoga meditation via path of contemplation, logical reasoning… introspection.
For a soul atman to cut across shackles of karma, remove dross impurities within… karma needs to be negated to zero. This becomes possible when traveling path of nishkama karma yoga we succeed in establishing total control over five senses and mind. Total negation of ego was also necessitated.
Traveling path of truthfulness we can hear the sweet small voice of our soul atman. Guided by voice of this soul atman we could exercise power of discretion distinguishing right from wrong. While indulging in scriptures we need understanding the hidden underlying meaning. This becomes possible when we indulged in path of contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning. Our indulgence in scriptures, path of jnana yoga paves way for gaining control over five senses, something extremely difficult to establish.
Once we succeed establishing control over five senses, control over mind power comes automatically. Control over negative thoughts can be established practicing absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation. This results in activating kundalini shakti fully, the coiled Serpentine energy lying dormant in base of spine! Control over positive thoughts comes via path of self enquiry (Neti… not this, not this) when we negated everything and what remains was God Almighty in all his glory.
Flow of positive thoughts to our brain was directly linked to our inherent desires, wishes… five senses. The moment our kundalini awakened fully we also reached stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (state of absolute nothingness) when not a single thought entered our brain uninvoked. Once we are permanently established in state of Nirvikalpa Samadhi after full awakening of kundalini shakti… Sahasra Pushpa (thousand petalled Lotus) existing in our brain opened fully. One immediately becomes an enlightened one… a bodhi, a Jina… a Mahavira forever!
All stages of spiritual pursuit have their pitfalls. Do not remember how many times I had to eat hell for breakfast, how many contemplations of suicide. If our goal of life was fixed, not even God Almighty could sway us from this path. Not once but many times God Almighty tried his best to dissuade me from path of self realization but could not. I always politely told him, once I reach you… I shall accept all what you want to give or do. It was a wonder how God Almighty backed out all the time. Story of my personal experience
