By becoming a trustee, caretaker in the journey of life one could all the time align both worlds… the inner and the outer. The inner world was dominated by our soul atman, the consciousness existing in our heart. The external world dominated by a bloated ego all the time rejected presence of soul atman within. When human beings worked for welfare of mankind all the time, maintaining this delicate balance was not that difficult. We only need practicing nishkama karma yoga.
For a nishkama karma Yogi, fruits of karma performed all the time belonged to our real self existing in our heart. King Janaka, father of Sita in Ramayana was a notable example of nishkama karma Yogi. JRD Tata, the erstwhile scion of Tata Empire was also a Karma Yogi par excellence. Even though an enlightened one, King Janaka successfully managed the affairs of his kingdom.
