Following tenets of a religion means following its sacred texts, scriptures religiously! But how many people world over seriously indulged in scriptural texts! Dominated by a bloated ego most followers of religion turned fanatics, behaving as if their religion was the best amongst all.
The feelings of forgiveness, compassion that every true religion encompasses were forgotten forever. Dominated by fundamentalism… envy, greed, jealousy… most took to path of violence.
Every true religion is primarily recognized by its spiritual texts… never the religious beliefs (rituals). God can only be reached via path of spirituality, never religion. Travelers of spiritual path never indulged in violence but those indulging in religious practices did.
Outwardly everything a fundamentalist did was in the name of God but terrorism, violence was never the language of God.
