All Hinduism scriptures explicitly state that present journey of life was undertaken by our soul atman, the consciousness existing in our heart. To cleanse self of dross impurities within every soul atman manifests body after body until it reaches 8.4 millionth manifestation, last in cosmic life cycle. This is the stage when traveling path of spirituality human beings finally gained enlightenment and moksha salvation. The cosmic journey of purified soul atman finally comes to an end.
The doctrine of reincarnation, rebirth was as simple as changing of guards at Buckingham Palace. After death of human form the released soul atman immediately manifests a new body to start new cycle of life. The whole cycle of reincarnation, rebirth was automatic based on inscrutable laws of karma and evolution… as we sow so shall we reap nothing less or more. The closing balance of last life becomes opening balance for next manifestation. Continuity of life was inherent cosmic principle.
