Instead of indulging open-endedly in the vast paraphernalia of Hinduism scriptures, we must first form a definite goal in life… what exactly we wanted to read! Once our goal is final we could indulge in requisites. One single book containing philosophies of best writers of Indology was just not possible.
When I started in search of God six years of age I did not confuse myself with the vast amount of literature available in Hinduism. I just concentrated my efforts on enlightened ones. Contemplating I finally realized that in the last about 150 years only Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana succeeded in reaching stage of enlightenment in their lifetime. Whatever literature I could get a hold relating to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana I went through all.
31 years of indulgence in yoga meditation I finally reached God 37 years of age. In my search for literature none helped me. There was no Internet during those times, not even computers. The spiritual journey was precipitous full of pitfalls, quite different from present times when ample literature is available on Internet. We just need to distinguish truth from false, right from wrong. A visit to few INDOLOGY publishers in New Delhi would give one everything. A visit to Gita press centre would also be of great help.
