Primarily, even spiritually the nature of Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna was same. Lord Vishnu represents a liberated soul atman… termed Siddha in Jainism! Lord Krishna is an embodiment of God Almighty, manifest in human form! Lord Krishna gained enlightenment at a very young age. His dancing on Kaliya Naag (serpent) represents full awakening of kundalini shakti at a very young age.
To cleanse the society of its ills comes on avatar like Lord Krishna. After the work is done, soul atman of Krishna goes back to Vaikuntha (kingdom of God)!
