Vedas (Hinduism revelations) originated much before coming of Lord Krishna and so was the case with Upanishads (independent treatises). As more and more sages and Rishis reached stage of enlightenment, they invoked words directly from domain of God Almighty. With coming of Lord Krishna, Bhagavad Gita came into being… which primarily contains essence of all Vedas and Upanishads.
