Unable to conceive, conceptualize God (Brahman in Hinduism) in its Nirakaar form (having no form)… mankind visualizes God in various forms including human form. We could rather say all idols; images… pictures of God were built in the image of human being.
In reality God (Brahman) always was Nirakaar and also Nirguna (without any attribute). The entity of God can be realized only by traveling path of spirituality as detailed in Bhagavad Gita.
