Pursuing Hindu mythology what do we expect gaining in life? Hindu mythology relates to parables to explain hidden deeper inner meaning of life. If we sincerely desire knowing god, realising god our indulgence in path of spirituality was mandated by god. In present times none could reach God via path of religion (rituals). Going to temples churches and mosques one never achieved anything spiritual in life.
Lord Ganesh is an attribute of God Almighty, part of large pantheon of gods and goddesses in Hinduism. Even Bhagavad Gita advocates our direct indulgence in God Almighty (Brahman in Hinduism) than his attributes. Both Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana reached god in their lifetime following principles of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent treatises)… not religion (path of rituals). Hindu mythology formed part of Hinduism religion, not spirituality.
