Do human beings have an independent mind? We only had a brain that works like a receiving and transmitting station. All prayers emanate from our true inner self… our soul atman, the spirit within or our ego (Aham in Hinduism)! Those with a bloated ego never experienced fulfillment of their prayers. From six years of age I have never experienced even a single of my prayer going unanswered. Remaining truthful all along I almost acted as a trustee, caretaker in the journey of life.
I never let my ego dominate my true inner self. All my prayers flowed from my soul atman, the spirit within.
Our heart is the seat of our soul atman, the consciousness within. Prayers addressed to god from our heart are always answered by god. But how many people world over sincerely offered selfless prayers to God Almighty! In West, perhaps many! But in India only a very limited few knew how to say their prayers. Compared to West, Indians have a very bloated ego, main cause for India remaining a developing country even now.
God answered our prayers if we prayed not for individual self but benefit of mankind. Essence of spiritual life always lay in working for entire mankind, never the individual self. Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Maharishi Ramana and Swami Vivekananda, all worked for welfare of mankind all the time. In due course grace of God Almighty became available to them in abundance. Both Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally reached stage of enlightenment in their lifetime.
As our need, accordingly our prayer! There was never a definite kind or form of prayers. We could pray to God for anything manifest or intangible. When we prayed to God from our heart, it was a one-to-one connection with God Almighty. After all God Almighty exists in all living beings including human beings in miniscule form as our soul atman, the spirit within. If an individual piece of puzzle is an independent soul atman, the completed puzzle God Almighty. If an individual grain of sand is an independent soul atman the whole mound God Almighty.
