Once Soul Atman reaches Stage of Siddha Nirvana It Liberates from Cycle of Birth and Death forever

The word nirvana is used both in Buddhism and Jainism scriptures. As I relate to Jainism (born in Jainism religion) we were given to understand that moment an enlightened one (named Arihanta in Jainism) leaves mortal frame, one becomes a Siddha (one who emancipates forever from cycle of birth and death, a liberated soul atman). This state of Siddha is termed nirvana in Jainism and moksha in Hinduism. Once a soul atman reaches stage of Siddha (Nirvana) one becomes liberated from cycle of birth and death forever. No more reincarnation, rebirth for this liberated soul atman!

The Nirvana mahotsava of Mahavira is celebrated with much fanfare in Jainism.
