Enlightenment is achieved by following path of spirit, prime reason why the journey is called path of spirituality. As detailed in Hinduism scriptures we were primarily a spirit, consciousness existing in our heart as our soul atman. We were primarily a spiritual being manifesting human form to work out our karma, remove dross impurities within.
The stage when the spirit within regains its lost original pure prime pristine primordial form is termed enlightenment. Spiritual journey is difficult to travel, reaching stage of enlightenment even more difficult. To gain enlightenment in present life following need to be achieved –
1. We must be 100% truthful in life.
2. We must have 100% faith in existence of God.
3. We must be prepared to undertake path of nishkama karma yoga.
4. We must be able to overpower five senses and mind.
5. We must successfully subdue our ego to zero forever.
6. We must succeed in negating karma to zero forever.
7. We must have the persistence to practice absolute celibacy for a period of 12 years in continuation.
8. We must be ready to indulge in path of jnana yoga to understand hidden underlying cosmic truths contained in scriptures of different religions of world.
9. Indulgence in path of yoga meditation via contemplation, introspection… logical reason was a must.
10. We must learn to distinguish religion from spirituality.
If we were competent to do all above, we could definitely gain enlightenment in present life.
