Arjuna in Mahabharata allegorically represents a seeker, a Yogi in search of God! Diving deep into the bottomless pit of jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita (the sermon given by Lord Krishna), Arjuna finally succeeds in reaching stage of enlightenment in the battlefield of Mahabharata.
The episode of Arjuna clearly indicates… for gaining enlightenment in present life, indulgence in jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita was an absolute must.
Arjuna is always depicted as owner of the chariot (human body), of which Lord Krishna was a sarthi (charioteer). Allegorically Lord Krishna represents soul atman existing in human body. Presence of Lord Krishna in human body further symbolizes that in absence of promptings of Lord Krishna coming from within our heart, no human being on mother could reach stage of enlightenment, moksha salvation!
