Basic Difference between Human Beings and Animals

The most basic difference between human beings and animals lay in exercise of free will, power of discrimination exercising which human beings differentiated truth from false, right from wrong! In absence of free will we would be no better than animals.

Behind every human being and animal form existed, a soul atman, carrying the same essence! As detailed in Bhagavad Gita all human beings evolved directly from stage of animals. Similar as a student jumps from class one to class two, class 2 to class 3… Life also keeps evolving.

Our soul atman initially manifested form of amoeba (single cell formation), the first manifestation in cosmic life cycle. It further evolves into multi-cell formation, insect life, plant life, animal life and finally the human form. Stage of absolute purity by a soul atman could be reached only in human form. Enlightenment, moksha salvation can be gained only in human form, never lower forms of life.

After a soul atman manifests human form for the first time, it was up to the individual concerned to indulge in spirituality, path of yoga meditation to reach cosmic end of life… stage of enlightenment, moksha salvation! Dominated by a bloated ego, mesmerized by glare of worldly riches most human beings preferred the easier path of religious practices (rituals) that never led anywhere.

In the evolution hierarchy, all animals were only one step lower than human beings… prime reason why the animal instinct sometimes becomes dominating and we practically behave more like animals. As per Bhagavad Gita once a soul atman manifests human form for the first time, it keeps rotating in human forms for the balance lives. Only in cases like Hitler, due to massive atrocities committed on Jews… the soul atman of Hitler would again manifest a much lower form of life… either of an animal or even an insect. Scriptures of both Hinduism on Jainism were clear on this point of cosmic life cycle.

The dross impurities in a soul atman manifesting animal form were much greater than when manifesting human form.
