Spirituality was beyond purview of science. Spirituality starts from the point where science ends. With limited power of senses one could not visualize the entire domain of spirituality. One can step into domain of souls’ atmans only through power of faith. Unless we had 100% faith in God Almighty, we could not accomplish much on path of spirituality. Science demands proofs that are not forthcoming in the field of pure spirituality. In field of spirituality presence of God can be realized like the smell of a flower. As detailed in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads every single living form had a soul atman within. The first manifestation by a soul atman was form of amoeba (single cell formation).
