The structure of a soul atman is incomprehensible. Human beings can never conceive identity of a soul atman now or in future ever.
As detailed in scriptures of Hinduism the human form was only a vehicle in the cosmic journey of a soul atman. The human form was manifested by our soul atman to work out its karma, remove dross impurities within.
As detailed in doctrine of Maya (veil of illusion)… other than world of souls atmans nothing existed in cosmos. Based on this analogy, souls’ atmans could not have a physical identity. After death of human form our soul atman manifests a new body to continue its journey of life. Similar as a student of class one promotes to class two, our soul atman also manifests a new form after death of present body.
Every manifestation results in a new body… a new journey of life! The moment karma negates to zero, our soul atman reaches stage of absolute purity. The need for a pure soul atman to manifest a body any further ceases to exist. This stage of absolute purity by a soul atman announces end of cosmic journey.
No soul atman reaches stage of salvation moksha. As detailed in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent treatises)… moment a human being gained enlightenment, all was over for soul atman within. The moment an enlightened one left mortal frame one reached stage of moksha salvation. The liberated soul atman finally enters abode of God (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism), a point of no return.
Reincarnation can rightly be termed as the process through which a soul atman manifests a new body after death of present body. This continues until human beings reached 8.4 millionth manifestation, last in cosmic life cycle. In spiritual terms it can be stated… one gains enlightenment in 8.4 millionth manifestation, never before.
