The physical manifest life was primarily governed by science but our inner journey was totally governed by saints who succeeded in reaching God in their lifetime. By saints I do not mean Swami, mendicant, recluse living in religious centers life Haridwar, Rishikesh or Varanasi.
The word saints here stood for enlightened ones life Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed, Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana. In the history of entire mankind particularly Hinduism we have hundreds of saints who gained enlightenment in their lifetime.
The physical manifest life, life in human form was limited to 70 to 80 years of earthly domain. Science helped us remain optimistic. In absence of science physical manifest life becomes meaningless. Supported by science human beings scaled different frontiers of physical manifest life!
However truth of our true inner self could never be neglected. As we were primarily a spiritual being on its cosmic life cycle of 8.4 million manifestations, our indulgence in spirituality, path advocated by sages becomes a necessity of our soul atman, the spirit within.
All sacred texts like Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads (independent treatises) and Vedas (Hinduism revelations) were invoked by sages of different era. It is following Bhagavad Gita, the sermon given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata human beings finally reached God in their lifetime.
