So we are serious about knowing caste of Lord Shiva, an attribute of God Almighty (Brahman in Hinduism).
In our search for caste of a godly character we could go to any length. In India the caste system is so prevalent, strong, so deep into our psych that if God Almighty himself came disguised then in no time Indians would tear him apart wanting part of his hide as prized trophy.
Our indulgence in path of religion is total pretence. We truly never want to reach God in present life. Knowing well that God could not be reached via path of religion (rituals), most Indians indulged in rituals all the time. None was interested in path of spirituality that directly leads to God Almighty.
Before coming of Manu do we think there was any caste system in entire mankind? It is all a creation of humankind just to ease life. But with passage of time, people have become narrow minded. In the name of caste we can indulge in wars, murder people and still think we did a wonderful job.
How low would the mankind stoop if we keep searching for caste in gods and goddesses?
