Spiritual awakening can be realized only by negating karma to zero. Once karma negates to zero, the question of materialism does not arise. An enlightened one, an awakened one… worked for welfare of mankind all the time. For a spiritually awakened person… the whole world becomes one large family.
Before starting on spiritual path we need to decide, whether we were agreeable to cutting all family ties forever. An enlightened soul could never distinguish one person from other. For an enlightened one… only souls’ atmans existed in this world, never the manifest physical form.
Could we ever expect Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed working for material benefit after reaching stage of enlightenment?
If material benefits were our goal of life, we must never think of traveling path of spirituality ever.
