One human life differed from another owing to mental prowess alone. One with stronger willpower could overpower one that had weaker willpower.
Picking or no picking of negative energy solely depended on our own willpower. If our willpower was strong, not even God Almighty could interfere in that.
Those in search of God always encounter God when he tries to dissuade them from following him. If we were determined then God backs out. Otherwise we succumb to earthly riches and forget our goal.
We can counter negative energy by remaining positive all the time. Furthermore, power of truthfulness was also necessitated to counter negative energy.
