Essence of Spirituality Meditation lay in Introspection Self Enquiry rather than Sitting Open or Closed Eye and Concentrating on Nothing

When young and in search of God, I also wanted to indulge in meditation. Not knowing what meditation was all about… I took help of a relative! He took me to a darkened room where sat many people concentrating on the center of a dimly lit bulb. I had many queries within but there were no answers. None in the congregation was willing to answer anything; perhaps they were unaware of the answers.

Next day when my relative came, I refused point blank to go to meditation centre. I slowly realized the futility of a meditation centre. The more I indulged in teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana… I realized that essence of spirituality, meditation lay in introspection, self enquiry… rather than sitting open or closed eye and concentrating on nothing.

I started my indulgence in introspection very young. I started traveling path of self enquiry (Neti… not this, not this) followed and advocated by Maharishi Ramana. My choice was right. It was only through path of introspection we could unveil the wisdom contained in sacred scriptures of Hinduism. The more I indulged, faster the queries dissolved within.

It took a total of 31 years before I reached stage of self realization, god realization in the wee hours of third of August 1993 at 37 years of age.

At this stage I can openly advocate that remaining wherever we are, in any part of country or world we could easily indulge in yoga meditation to reach God following path of introspection.
