The seeds of spirituality existed in me from the very beginning of life. Maybe something I did in earlier life was the cause! Normally most human beings in present life were religious but wanted to become spiritual. Finding contemplation difficult, most indulged in religious practices (rituals).
Believing in spirituality means having absolute faith in God (termed shraddha in Hinduism)! My faith in God Almighty six years of age was 100%, absolute! I also walked path of truthfulness 100%.
Traveling path of spirituality means believing in world of souls atmans! Unless we believed we were a soul atman, a spiritual being undertaking journey in human form… we could never realize precepts of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita or other scriptures of Hinduism.
We must also believe in precept of nishkama karma yoga, kundalini awakening… practice of absolute celibacy! We must be prepared to subdue five senses and mind in totality. We need overpowering our ego forever. We must be willing to travel path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) as nothing in scriptures could be understood literally.
If we could do all as detailed above… we could successfully indulge in spirituality!
