Yogis Living in Inner Confines of Himalayas Reality or Myth

In present times we do not expect to find yogis living in inner confines of Himalayas. So was not necessitated. Even while living in society one could indulge in contemplation, introspection… path of logical reasoning to reach hidden underlying cosmic truths of life contained in sacred texts of different religions of world. More than contemplation, sometimes Satsanga amongst like-minded thinkers was also necessitated. In yesteryears, seekers left their family midway in search of abstract truths of life. So was not the trend in present times. We definitely find many religious seekers loitering in Haridwar, Rishikesh and Varanasi but to no avail. Having no idea of spirituality they routinely indulged in rituals that carried no meaning on path of pure spirituality. God could never be reached via path of religion (rituals).

In present times when everything was available through medium of Internet, one would find seekers living in the society. Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita says a practitioner of spiritual path who indulges in abstract truths of life even while living in confines of Grihastha ashram (family life) was the biggest Yogi of all. Most of the so-called spiritual travelers in present times were merely religious mendicants indulging in rituals (religious practices) that never led human beings to God Almighty. Very few people in present times, the numbers could be counted on fingers indulged in true path of spirituality. For cutting shackles of karma, indulgence in penance the willpower exhibited by Swami Vivekananda was necessitated. How many Swami Vivekananda do we expect existing in present times?
