From six years of age I was totally fascinated by Lord Krishna as stories about Lord Krishna did rounds in my house. The elders in the family after dinner indulged in telling stories about Lord Krishna and other enlightened souls like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed.
At no stage of life did I disbelieve in Lord Krishna. The reason was apparent. Lying in shavasna pose of yoga when going to bed in night I would call a roundtable conference consisting of Lord Krishna and other enlightened souls. I put forth all my queries to these enlightened souls. In the morning when I got up all my queries had dissolved forever.
For a true traveler of spiritual path, 100% faith (shraddha in Hinduism) in God Almighty was necessitated. If our faith in God, his representative on mother earth Lord Krishna was not complete, we would bitterly fail in our spiritual quest. I never questioned validity of Mahabharata happening in real life! I was more after teachings of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita than history or mythology.
Believing in Lord Krishna and his teachings of Bhagavad Gita I finally reached God in 1993 37 years of age. Exercising free will, power of discrimination I could easily distinguish right from wrong. For me Lord Krishna was the first avatar, who manifest on mother earth… the reason for any disbelief did not exist!
Allegorically Lord Krishna was soul atman existing in our heart. In absence of promptings of soul atman coming from within… no human being on mother earth could reach stage of enlightenment, moksha salvation! Indulgence in Bhagavad Gita to gain enlightenment was ordained by God. We could do it by traveling path of absolute truthfulness, only then we could hear sweet small promptings of soul atman coming from within!
