Karma can be negated to zero only by indulgence in karma, never otherwise. Non-indulgence in karma never eradicates karma forever. Just by touching feet of wife and child, Siddhartha Gautama could not absolve self from bondages of karma. This act proved to be the biggest mistake of his life. Finally Siddhartha Gautama sat under a bodhi tree for a period exceeding 12 years to gain enlightenment in his lifetime. Karma can be negated to zero by establishing absolute control over five senses and mind. This was a slow gradual process yet not impossible.
If Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed could do it in their times… so could others in present times. In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over… Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally succeeded in neutralizing karma to zero forever. Indulgence in karma on path of pure spirituality means working with an unattached attitude (never detached). We need to work like a trustee, caretaker for whom everything all the time belonged to God Almighty. One was only an instrument in hands of God Almighty doing his bidding all the time.
The doctrine of karma is best detailed in Bhagavad Gita, foremost of all sacred scriptures existing on mother earth. To gain enlightenment in present life time, to eradicate karma forever… belief in enlightened souls like Jesus Christ does not mean anything. We have to negate our own karma to zero forever before we reached stage of enlightenment. Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita says… bondage of karma was most difficult to cut, erase forever. Subduing our ego, reducing our desires and wishes gradually… we could slowly establish total control over five senses and mind.
