Even though present in heart, our soul atman, the consciousness within was the real master and controller of human life. We indulged in karma due to presence of our ego. Does it mean that for human beings to work, our soul atman facilitated precept of karma! Yes, cosmic fact is so.
Our soul atman is indestructible, could neither be created or destroyed! After death of human form our soul atman again manifests a new body to start new journey of life.
In its lifetime a soul atman manifests a maximum of 8.4 million bodies of which 1.1 manifestations occurred only in human form.
Human form could never identify existence of soul atman in our heart yet we could always hear its voice coming from within our heart by remaining truthful all the time.
For realizing we were primarily a soul atman, our indulgence in path of spirituality… yoga meditation was necessitated! We need gaining enlightenment to become a pure soul atman forever.
Human soul was no distinct from souls existing in insect, plant and animal life. All these were different stages of evolution. After passing 7.3 million manifestations in insect, plant and animal life… a soul atman finally manifests human form for the first time.
As detailed in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent treatises), we were primarily a spiritual being, a spirit… a soul atman on its cosmic life cycle of 8.4 million manifestations that entailed an earthly journey of 96.4 million years. We failed to realize our true inner self due to presence of ego.
