Sages and Rishis in ancient India (erstwhile Bharatvarsha) contemplated on hidden cosmic precepts of life. With passage of time their brain evolved to such an extent that words from domain of God Almighty freely flowed to them. These initial words (invocations) from God Almighty were compiled into four Vedas (Hinduism revelations) viz., Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda.
As Vedas were voluminous documents indulged only by learned scholars… sages of different times contemplated on them and wrote Independent treatises known as Upanishads. The Upanishads numbered above 200 as of today. In the great fire that was set to Nalanda University by Turkish Bakhtiyar Khilji in 1193, many original scripts got destroyed forever.
Despite existence of Vedas and Upanishads, the spiritual wisdom was still beyond reach of general masses. And then God Almighty intervened and advent Lord Krishna, an avatar of his era (God manifest in human form). With coming of Lord Krishna above 3650 years before, the jnana wisdom spread to masses in form of 700 shlokas contained in Bhagavad Gita.
All enlightened ones like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed came much after coming of Lord Krishna. India was the spiritual citadel of world, is and would always remain in times to come. None can defeat the spirit that exists in India. It is primarily India that showed entire humanity what spirituality is all about. Enlightenment can only be gained via path of spirituality. All enlightened ones like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed engaged in teachings of Bhagavad Gita; Upanishads… even Vedas to reach stage of enlightenment.
