Can spiritual enlightenment be gained online through yoga classes? If we look at meaning and purport of yoga… yoga is derived from root word yog which in Hindi stood for synthesis, effort of soul atman trying to merge with God Almighty, Parmatman (Brahman). In Hindi two yog two equals four.
Journey of spirituality is always traveled all alone. So was done by Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed, Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana.
Traveling path of contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning human beings finally succeed in reaching hidden underlying cosmic truths contained in scriptures of different religions of world. There was no other way to understand gist of scriptures as nothing could be understood literally.
Spirituality demands our establishing absolute control over five senses and mind. For this we need to practice 100% truthfulness, have 100% faith in God Almighty. For full awakening of kundalini shakti, the coiled Serpentine energy lying dormant in base of spine… practice of absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation was also necessitated. Not a single lapse was permitted lest we need to redo everything, repeat the whole process again.
Spiritual enlightenment truly is not that easily attained. In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over… only Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally succeeded in reaching God in their lifetime.
The best part of spirituality was, whatever our progress of present life, in the next manifestation taken by our soul atman we started from the same level. Nothing gets lost in transition.
Indulging in yoga meditation primarily is the precept… indulgence in contemplation, logical reasoning… the path!
