Suppose my name in present life was Mr. X, then death would mean losing this physical identity forever. What transfers to next life, next manifestation by our soul atman was residual balance of karma at the time of death. The closing balance of present life becomes the opening balance for next manifestation. Our life moves like balance sheet of an accountant.
The best part on path of spirituality was… our gains of present life never get lost! At whatever level we leave in present life, we could start from the very same level in next manifestation. How and where the information is stored is only known to souls’ atmans as the present brain dies with the body.
