Mahabharata was no ordinary battle. It was a battle to re-establish Dharma (righteousness) against evil forces of adharma (lawlessness). Whatever we may be in personal life, but Karna, Bhishma Pitamah and guru Dronacharya… all sided adharma! The question of forgiveness does not arise. Even then, Lord Krishna gave ample opportunity to Duryodhana to mend his ways but he bluntly refused. When the honour of entire nation is at stake, a fight to the finish was the only solution.
