Can a Nobel Laureate force a student to become a Nobel laureate. We know it cannot be done. Does that mean failure of Nobel Laureate? Just as we could not make a bud grow into a flower, or pull stem of a plant and make it grow into a tree… we also could not force human beings to gain enlightenment. Everything grows with its own pace naturally. External factors can expedite our growth to a limited extent but the journey of life was to be decided by us alone.
Enlightenment was a natural process; it is evolution of self from within. One gains enlightenment traveling path of spirituality, indulging in yoga meditation as detailed in Bhagavad Gita. Indulgence in yoga meditation is realized via path of contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning. Lying in shavasna pose of yoga like Maharishi Ramana one could indulge in self enquiry (Neti… not this, not this) to reach God in present life. Enlightenment could never be gained by blessings of a spiritual master alone. Even an enlightened one could never make one enlightened. Prime reason why path of spirituality is traveled all alone!
