Unable to conceive God Almighty (Brahman) in all its glory, in its Nirakaar form (having no form)… Hindus prayed to Sakaar form of God (having a form). This form of God could be in any shape… an idol, even a tree, rock… rivers or mountains! The essence of all prayers lay in reaching God, the medium could be any. If for giving an injection to the patient, the doctor sends a beautiful nurse… the medicine was rendered by the Doctor, not the nurse! Nurse was only a medium carrying out instructions of Doctor.
As per Hindu philosophy God Almighty was one and only one, Brahman in Hinduism!
