Swami Vivekananda primarily showed mankind how one must indulge in spirituality to reach God in their lifetime. Swami Vivekananda was an apt practitioner of celibacy (Brahmacharya Vrata). He also laid great stress on indulgence in karma. To decimate karma, negate karma to zero … our indulgence in karma was necessitated! Swami Vivekananda showed the entire world how one must indulge in nishkama karma yoga and jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom). Swami Vivekananda abhorred religious practices (rituals) that never lead anywhere. Swami Vivekananda is primarily remembered for his advocacy of karma. As per Swami Vivekananda one must never leave confines of home in search of God.
Even while searching for God one must complete family responsibilities in totality. One could never follow path taken by Siddhartha Gautama. Touching feet of wife and child does not absolve one from bondages of karma. Karma needs to be burnt in totality to reach God.
