Spirituality was never achieved but traveling path of spirituality human beings gained enlightenment in their lifetime. The word spirituality stems from spirit that exists within us as our consciousness, soul atman existing in our heart. Traveling path of spirituality means indulgence in path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) to assimilate hidden underlying cosmic truths of life contained in sacred texts. Traveling path of jnana yoga was necessitated to negate karma to zero. For a soul atman to reach stage of absolute purity, negation of karma to zero was necessitated. Negation of karma can be realized by establishing absolute control over five senses and mind. As our control over ego, five senses and mind came gradually… we experienced intermittent stages of total calm, tranquility… serenity within!
The journey of spirituality was to realize our true inner self existing in our heart. On path of pure spirituality there was nothing else than experiences of inner peace most of time. As we neared god, inner happiness converts to total tranquility, something that was beyond comprehension… could never be expressed in words but can only be realized!
Path of spirituality is best traveled indulging in Bhagavad Gita, the foremost of all sacred scriptures existing on mother earth. All enlightened souls followed teachings of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita to reach stage of enlightenment. The 700 shlokas verses contained in Bhagavad Gita contained truth but only truth. For understanding Bhagavad Gita one need not convert to Hinduism. Even while following our religion, faith or belief… one could ceremoniously indulge in teachings of Bhagavad Gita to reach God.
