The doctrine of karma was intrinsically connected to doctrine of rebirth, reincarnation! Human beings indulged in karma to remove dross impurities within their soul atman. In absence of karma life would not move ahead in cosmic life cycle.
The removal of dross impurities within a soul atman was a long drawn process. Every soul atman needs manifesting a chain of 8.4 million bodies in its entire life to cleanse self of dross impurities within. Until a soul atman reaches 8.4 millionth manifestation, it keeps manifesting form after another.
The changeover from one manifestation to another is termed reincarnation, rebirth. A soul atman keeps rotating in the cycle of reincarnation until it attains absolute purity… the stage when human beings gained enlightenment and finally moksha salvation.
The moment karma negates to zero, dross impurities within remove forever… soul atman regains its lost original pure prime pristine primordial form! This liberated soul atman in absence of dross impurities within need not manifest a body again. The need for manifesting a new body now ceases to exist.
