In absence of a single goal in life, our thoughts wandered everywhere. To concentrate flow of thoughts, our establishing a single goal of life was necessitated. Thoughts continue flowing to our brain incessantly. We can stem the tide of thoughts to our brain by reducing our desires and wishes gradually.
Imagine if we had 10 smaller goals of life then thoughts invoked by our brain would be proportional. If we had only one goal of life, we could channelize all our energies behind that single goal of life. In that eventuality the clutter in thought process would phenomenally decrease and power of concentration proportionately increasing.
All depends on dominating desires and wishes. The more powerful the desire, the invocation of thoughts related to that subject would be more. Even while studying we would be thinking about the dominant subject or the object!
