What happens when we neared the 70th floor of Empire State building… we were closer to our goal (the top of Empire State building)! We could view greater part of New York than before.
What happened when a student clears 12th standard (grade). One was nearer to becoming a graduate.
The goal of meditation was reaching God. In higher states of meditation, queries existing within us were much less than when we started our indulgence in yoga meditation. We could feel presence of God all around. We also could realize that we were primarily a spiritual being, a spirit and not the manifest physical human form. In fact we were closer to God than ever.
Initially if one KG of pure gold was surrounded by 99 KG of dross impurities within then deeper state of meditation means one KG of pure gold surrounded by five KG of dross impurities. Becoming a pure soul atman (one KG of pure gold) is the ultimate goal of life… the purpose of indulging in meditation!
