Karma was the Inherent Ingredient of Cosmic Life through which Life moved ahead from One Manifestation to Another

Can life exist in absence of karma! Even if one remains idle, karma plays its role silently. Every single thought positive or negative precipitates into an act of karma. Karma was the inherent ingredient of cosmic life through which life moved ahead from one manifestation to another. The closing balance of previous life becomes opening balance for next manifestation. A child manifests a new body in a family that matches it. In simpler words, a child chooses ones parents. If the residual balance of karma at the time of death demands our birth in a cobbler’s house, we just could not be born a Prince.

The doctrine of Bhava karma of Jainism explicitly states that even if a murder has been committed in thoughts, one has sinned and shall be punished by God. A murder in thoughts and a real murder would weigh differently on scales of karma, maybe millions of times less potent. It is quite possible that if we commit thousands of murders in our thoughts, they may equalize to one murder in real life.

To manifest present, future… life, our indulgence in good karma, positive karma was mandated. The doctrine of karma just could not be neglected. It simply says as we sow so shall we reap nothing less or more. Unless human beings negate karma to zero, one could never gain enlightenment in present life.
