When young fascinated by stories about gods in Hinduism I used to wonder… how lovely it would be if one could gain immortality, live forever. I started my pursuit of God six years of age. I wanted to reach God in this very life no matter what.
31 years of spiritual travail, indulging in spirituality… yoga meditation I finally realized self, realized God. It was during my spiritual sojourn I realized that immortality in human form was simply not possible.
Immortality laid in domain of souls atmans… the consciousness, spirit existing in our heart. It is this spirit that manifested human form to work out its karma, remove dross impurities within. Human form was but a medium for soul atman to cleanse itself of dross impurities within. As a soul atman, traveling path of spirituality human beings finally succeeded in reaching stage of absolute purity. In absence of dross impurities within the need for a pure soul atman to manifest another body ceases to exist.
This stage of absolute purity by a soul atman when it gains emancipation from cycle of birth and death forever, the stage of Mukti in Hinduism is termed immortality. This liberated soul atman finally enters kingdom of God (Vaikuntha in Hinduism), a point of no return.
The soul atman of Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed… Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana reached stage of immortality moment they succeeded in gaining enlightenment and finally moksha salvation.
