As detailed in scriptures of different religions of world the most a human being could become in present life was man god like Mahavira (24th Tirthankara of Jainism, preceptor), Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed. Becoming a man god, gaining enlightenment and finally moksha salvation meant a soul atman gaining absolute purity forever. A purified soul atman need not manifest a body again. In absence of dross impurities within the need for a soul atman to manifest a new body ceased to exist. The liberated soul atman finally enters abode of God, kingdom of God (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism).
From first manifestation by a soul atman to 8.4 millionth manifestation, the effort of a soul atman always remains gaining liberation from cycle of birth and death forever at the earliest, becoming a pure soul atman. This became possible when human beings indulged in scriptural texts of Hinduism like sacred Bhagavad Gita, the sermon given to mankind by Lord Krishna above 3600 years before now. Following 700 shlokas verses contained in Bhagavad Gita any human being world over, belonging to any religion faith or belief can reach stage of absolute purity, become a man god in present life.
Apart from teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita indulgence in Upanishads (independent treatises) was not necessitated. Nor was indulgence in Vedas (Hinduism revelations, the first words of God Almighty on mother earth). Still, indulgence in nine principle Upanishads rendered great help in understanding gist of Bhagavad Gita. Nothing in Bhagavad Gita could be understood literally. It demands reading in between the lines. Meaning, our indulgence in path of contemplation, self enquiry, logical reasoning was necessitated to unveil hidden underlying meaning of scriptural text contained in Bhagavad Gita!
Stage of enlightenment, stage of man god was not that easily reached. Prime reason why in last about 150 years amongst 7000 million people existing world over only two spiritual stalwarts Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally succeeded in becoming a man god like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or prophet Mohammed. Both these spiritual stalwarts initially started their journey via path of karma yoga and bhakti yoga (path of total submission to god) but finding God can not be reached via path of bhakti yoga alone, both finally switched to path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom).
Indulgence in path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) simply means indulgence in jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita or other scriptural texts of Hinduism.
Path of spirituality could never be travelled with a biased attitude. Even man gods like Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed came to India to indulge in path of jnana yoga, wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita Upanishads and Vedas to reach status of a man god. Born in a Jain family, all my life I followed preaching of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita. Whenever members of Jaina tradition confronted me about this anomaly, I was point-blank in telling them that to unearth absolute truth in present life I need following teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita. Whenever I indulged in scriptures of Jainism, I got lost.
After all scriptures were not all about gaining jnana wisdom. The jnana wisdom contained in scriptures was only a path to reach hidden abstract truths of life contained in scriptures. And indulgence in jnana wisdom became possible through path of contemplation, self enquiry, logical reasoning.
Starting my spiritual journey 13 years of age, after 25 years of yoga meditation I finally landed self in laps of God Almighty in the wee hours of third of August 1993 at 37 years of age. Following path of spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita was a boon for me. I finally succeeded in reaching 8.4 millionth manifestation, last in cosmic life cycle. Had I remained prejudiced against teachings of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita (as most Jains do); I would have never reached anywhere. In field of pure spirituality we must always work without any bias. The doors of god were always open for those who truly worked for mankind with an open heart. Followers of Jainism treat Lord Krishna as someone dwelling in Naraka (Hell). A pure sham!
Such prejudicial thinking never led human beings anywhere.
