Technically it was not possible! The word spirituality itself means something related to spirit, consciousness… soul atman existing in our heart! Indulging in spirituality means taking a journey towards our inner self! Belief in spirit, world of souls’ atmans was possible only when we believed in existence of God (Brahman in Hinduism). One who does not believe in God nor has absolute faith in God (shraddha in Hinduism)… also could never travel spiritual path successfully.
Spirituality means realizing we were a soul atman on its cosmic life cycle of 8.4 million manifestations. It is traveling path of spirituality human beings finally reached God in their lifetime.
