The presence of free will in human beings facilitates journey of life in human form! In absence of free will human beings could not reach stage of enlightenment. Exerting free will, power of discrimination human beings distinguished right from wrong. Free will proves presence of spirit, consciousness within our heart. Exercising free will means belief in our true inner self existing in our heart as our soul atman.
When death occurs, the released soul atman, consciousness again manifests a new human body! The spirit, consciousness remaining the same… only the outer garment keeps changing! For a spirit, consciousness to reach stage of absolute purity, presence of free will was an absolute must! In absence of free will, the status of human beings would practically reduce to that of animals, lower forms of life!
